On Saturday, April 11th, four riders showed up to ride the Harpeth Bicycle Club's 300k brevet in Cerulean, Kentucky. Temperatures at the start were in the mid 40's, but it got up to the mid 60's by early afternoon. The day was so beautiful it was a shame that the turnout was so small. Despite a pretty strong wind and an extremely hilly course, drafting behind the tandem duo of Jeff and Peter allowed me to set a personal best time for a 300k by almost an hour and a half. We finished up just after dark. To improve turnout, maybe we can schedule it on a weekend other than Easter next year, as it still my favorite 300k course.

With over 10,000 feet of climbing the route is non-stop up and down, with steep grades spread evenly throughout the course. But at no point does the elevation get above 900 feet and there is no one climb of more than 400 feet.

From Cerulean to Morgantown & Back = 10,500 feet of climbing
